The Founder
A few years ago, my wife and I moved from a major metro area to a smaller town, and I realized something was missing: I had no easy way to keep up with what was happening locally.
Back in the city, news was everywhere — my social media feed, local newsletters, radio, and even casual conversations. But in a smaller town, without an existing personal network, I found myself feeling disconnected. I kept thinking: Why isn't there a local news podcast that just shows up in my feed every morning?
That's where the idea for LocalPod started. I wanted to help local publishers deliver news in a growing format people are already consuming — audio. Podcasts make news more accessible, whether you're on your morning commute, walking the dog, or just multitasking.
